I was never a Brownie, but was a Guide first in Bilborough and then in Wollaton. I came back into Guiding with having 2 daughters and I helped at a meeting................ I'm also an Assistant Guide Guider in Bakersfield and the Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinater.
Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
The County fully supports the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. There are 3 levels Bronze, Silver and Gold, and for each level you complete four sections. Volunteering, Skills, Physical Recreation and Expedition. At Gold level you also take part in a Residential Project. The starting ages for the scheme are Bronze - 14 years, Silver - 15 years, Gold - 16 years.
