Countdown 100 - Review
I just wanted to thank you on behalf of all the Brownies and Guides from 74th Nottingham that went to countdown yesterday. They had a ‘fab time’ (as one Brownie said). It couldn’t have been a better day (weather wise), the organisation was excellent and the range of activities ‘was bril’ said a Guide.
Well done to you and the team for putting on a most wonderful day. How did you organise the weather to be so good?? My guides really enjoyed themselves and this has really set them up for the year ahead. Thank you for a day I'm sure the girls are going to remember as I know it is one I am not going to forget.
1st Gedling Guides
Well done with everything, it was a great day. Everyone looked like they had an amazing time and a day many will remember for a very long time. I spoke to scout leaders who commented on how much better it was than their centenary events (even considered changing to guiding!) Thank you for all the hard work that you put in.
I would like to thank you for organising the event at Newark yesterday. Bethany had a fantastic time and is already talking about the next time! I did explain she would have to wait 100 years!

Just wanted to say what a fantastic day we had yesterday. It was definitely an 'I was there' experience. The time and effort you and your team must have put in doesn't bear thinking about but please be assured it was definitely worth it.

On behalf of 1st Toton Brownies I would like to thank you and all the organising committee for a very special day. We all had a great time. It makes me very proud to be part of an organisation which can deliver such a fun day for so many. I’m sure that we will all remember it for a very long time.

Just a note from the Leaders and girls of 4th Porchester Brownies to say thanks to you and your team for a wonderful day on Saturday. Both adults and girls had a super day - our three parents were very "chuffed" when I said there was a goody bag for them!!

I was in one of Division tents for most of the day with my husband (his first outing to a large guiding event) He is a Senior Health and Safety Officer and he was impressed with our organisation.

A special thank you for inviting me to take part in your wonderful event - for me an ex guide it was a very special experience. Please thank all the young leaders who assisted me through out the day and made it happen for all the girls.
We had a really wonderful day and I had so many positive comments from our girls, not to mention laughs and smiles. Thank you to you and all those behind the scenes who made it possible, it really was a day to remember.
1st Coddington Brownies, Newark and district division.
I am writing on behalf of the Retford Division to thank you and the Countdown 100 team for a fabulous day.
Everyone had a really great time and I am sure will have taken away really happy and lasting memories and an ‘ I was there’ experience.
The event was very well organised and the goodie bag was such a lovely touch. We had a great time drumming and making beaters with the
girls and the day seemed to go very quickly. I was counting heads at the percussion sessions and in our
last one we had a record of 61 people all taking part playing something or other - we ran out of instruments so I got them playing chairs and tables... Thank you again. And I hope to work with you
in the future.

All in all i thought the day was fantastic and it is the kind of thing Guiding should be doing. Outdoors, Fun, Exciting, although at times intimidating, nothing is more scary than that many flashing bunny ears moving in unison to the cha cha slide.
What a fantastic event! I've never been to one like that before in or out of Guiding. My Brownies, YLs and I had a really great time all day with so much to see a do - and the fireworks!!!!!!! I had no negative comments from any other unit in the District, only positive, something for everyone of all ages.
5th East Leake Brownies
Please could you pass on our thanks and congratulations to Dee and everyone involved with organising yesterdays wonderful event. We all had an amazing time - it was perfect - and so well organised. There were so many exciting activities for the girls to try and to watch - the parachute display took our breath away! What a fantastic day to remember forever!!

2nd Calverton Brownies
As “just a guider” at the countdown, I would like to say what a fantastic day we had and thanks to all the organisers from Rosemary, through all the Trefoil members, organising teams (and partners) to the sweeper uppers in the toilet blocks.
I was really sceptical about Bunny Ears but when I saw them in the dark on 5000 bobbing heads with the fireworks above, I thought it was an inspired idea as was the big screen.
I feel 100 today even though I didn’t do much but be there, but it’s worth it.
I expect the teams feel several hundred years old by now but well done to them all and Thank You..
Just want to congratulate you all on a wonderful day out in Newark on
Saturday for the Countdown 100.
We all had a super day and we were so glad we stayed until the end. It was
so memorable....all those ears flashing!!! Such an atmosphere! The Gang Show
gang were magnificent and, as for the fireworks...I was speechless...a great
ending.
Well done to all who worked so hard before and during and no doubt after the
event....I know our Brownies and Leaders will never forget it.
1st Barnstone Brownies
I wanted to say we had a great day, the 1st Keyworth Brownies all went up
the climbing wall, and the evening was truly memorable. As a Guider, to see
so many girls dancing and singing and having a great time will be the memory
that will stay with me (and the sea of flashing bunny ears!)
Please could you pass on Ashfield Divisions big THANK YOU for all concerned who helped to organise the event. The girls really enjoyed it, the weather was fantastic, a great party atmosphere, good activities and a brilliant finale with the music and fireworks. In short, a massive success !.

Farndon Brownies and Guides
Please pass on my sincere thanks to the team who arranged Saturday's
activities. I can't think of one thing to complain about and as one of my
Brownies said, "Those Brownies who didn't want to come, just don't know what
they have missed" and I think these words have said it all.
I can't imagine the time and effort put in by the team, but from 1st
Blidworth (St. Mary's) Brownies, the biggest thank you ever for making a day
so special that will remain with them for a long time.
Please pass on our thanks to those responsible for organising our lovely day
on Saturday at Newark Showground. All the Brownies and leaders thoroughly
enjoyed themselves and the organisation was great from beginning to end. So
much effort was put into it all by so many different people and it was good
to share the day with friends and so many members from the county. Thank you
to you all. The Brownies loved all the activities on offer.
We really appreciate everything that was done for us to make it so
enjoyable.
A massive thank you to you and all your brilliant team for organising such a memorable day on saturday. Our brownies had a great time - especially meeting the queen! The only problem was there wasn't enough time to do everything! But they all had plenty to talk about when they got home.
You all did a fantastic job and had clearly given a lot of thought to everything:
the arena show just kept on going so there was no opportunity to feel tired or cold and the sight of all those bunny ears was amazing!
