Training
Alison Thomas
I am responsible for organising the training in the county. CountyDay is our big training event of the year, with a county weekend every other year. We try to have 2 evening trainings in various parts of the county during the year, which will vary in the topics covered according to what is requested.
The training team is happy to come to a division to do a training – all that we ask is that there will be a minimum of 10 Guiders attending. This can be arranged through your division commissioner.
Please note that the trainers are only responsible for programme training – issues about first response should be directed to the Health and First Aid adviser, and similarly, training for residential qualifications are the province of the outdoor team.
We are always on the lookout for suitable venues to hold our trainings – ideally with 3 or 4 rooms available, and access to drink making facilities.
