What can 4 do 4 You?

4 is an exciting peer education initiative in Girlguiding UK, and it’s all about working 4ward, 4 self, 4 others.

In4mers are peer educators who are trained to deliver fun and in4mative sessions in unit meetings to Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members.  They can deliver topics and skills to girls like Bullying, Healthy Eating, Communication or Decision Making to name a few.

What 4 can do 4 you…

If you are interested in 4 or would like more in4mation, please email trainers@girlguiding-midlands.org.uk.

Camp & Holiday Scheme and the Senior Section Permit - MEMO from UK Senior Sections Advisor

As you are all aware the Camp and Holiday Scheme review has now been completed, and the modules within have been streamlined.  Unfortunately, as the Senior Section CD was reprinted prior to the completion of the Camp and Holiday Scheme review there are now some discrepancies between the Senior Section Permit modules and the Camp and Holiday Scheme modules.

We have outlined how the modules now match. Click here Please note that there is no equivalent module in the Camp and Holiday Scheme for the ‘prepare and run a mobile expedition’ module in the Senior Section Permit.

When the Senior Section CD is reprinted later this year we will ensure that the modules match up between the two schemes. Please use the below guide in the mean time.

Also I’d like to reiterate that modules completed as a Senior Section member for the Senior Section Permit can count towards the Camp and Holiday Scheme.

Queen's Guide Award Outdoor Challenge - MEMO from UK Senior Sections Advisor

This memo is to outline to you what is required of any Queen’s Guide Award participants completing the Outdoor Challenge element of the Award.  It also outlines the forms that need to be completed for the Outdoor Challenge element.  We know that most of you will be aware of which forms need completed but in order for us to ensure that everyone is being asked to complete the same forms we felt that it was advisable to put this into a memo.

It is important to ensure that the participant can demonstrate that they have developed teamwork, communication and networking skills as well as faced new challenges, shown participation, initiative, teamwork and leadership.  Attached to this memo is the syllabus extract of the Outdoor Challenge.
