Magpie's Nest Camp Site
There is a five acre camping field and a six acre wild area, ideal for wide games, nature study and pond dipping The ponds are not safe enough for bathing or paddling.There are two equipped sites:
The Magpie’s Campsite
Equipped for about 36 with an altar base fire. The basement kitchen has electric cooker and fridge/freezer and can be used as emergency
indoor accommodation.
The Downing Site
Equipped for 24, with an altar fire base. There is a wooden building on the site 5 metres by 10 metres. There is no electricity on this site.
Unequipped Sites:
Trefoil and Saker Sites — each has an altar fire base and is for 24 campers.
Hedgerow Site is for 24 campers but has no altar fire base.
Railway Site is suitable for a small camp or patrol camp of up to 10 campers; there is no altar fire base.
Waterside Site for up to 24 campers but has no altar fire base.
Toilets:
There are three toilet blocks and an Elsan emptying point. One toilet is adapted for use by a disabled person
Showers:
Showers are available for all campers One shower is adapted for use by a disabled person.
Charges
Magpies and Downing Sites
£3.25 for Nottinghamshire Units
£3.50 for out of County Units
£4.00 for non Guiding/Scouting Youth Groups
Unequipped Sites:
£2.75 for Nottinghamshire Units
£3.00 for Out of County Units and other Youth Groups
Caravans:
£3.00 per night with limited hook-up and an additional cost for electricity.
