TWO NEW CHALLENGES FROM MIDLANDS

Girlguiding Midlands have created two new badges;

The first is a record of the number of nights girls have spent away with Guiding, badges are awarded depending on how many nights a girl has spent away with Guiding.

The second is a challenge badge, open to all members, to encourage them to get out and about in the great outdoors.

Happy Me

A Challenge to make you smile; to help you make others feel happy and to feel good about yourself. It has been developed by YLs to help raise funds for travel to Sangam, Guiding’s world centre in India. It comes at a time when Girl Guiding UK has highlighted the impact of airbrushed celebrity photos on girls’ self-esteem.

The activities, which are suitable for all sections, have been split into 8 categories from the Guiding programme: Character, Service, Creativity, Relationships, Outof-doors, Home craft, Mind, Physical Fitness. A challenge badge open to everyone from Rainbows to Trefoil Guild. Almost all of the challenges required can easily fit into a normal weekly program with no time limits on completion.
